Squarerut Kava Bar
Kava or kava-kava (Piper methysticum) (Piper: Latin for 'pepper', methysticum: (Latinized) Greek for 'intoxicating') is a crop of the western Pacific – according to Wikipedia..My wife and I got married in Fiji. We drank quite a bit of this drink made from the roots of the plant. It’s a great experience.. It’s not intoxicating.. it’s just.. nice… almost perfect. It’s said to be used to treat social anxiety. For us it creates a calming, relaxing feeling and reminds us of one of the best times of our lives. We brought some home from our trip, drank it occasionally and ran out about a year and a half later. I didn’t want to order kava from a company on the internet because of the chance that it wouldn’t live up to Fijian kava.Recently, I heard about a place called the Squarerut Kava Bar, a brand new business just opened in South Austin. I figured it was probably up in the SOCO area until my buddy told me its location – a couple blocks from my house! We went last night...and will be heading over there again very soon. What a cool place!!! Another awesome spot to add to our South Austin repertoire! Bring your kid, your dog, your laptop.. Relax.. be social… Say “Hello” to Scott...drink some super tasty kava – the real deal!.We left Squarerut feeling happy and relaxed. That’s exactly what we were looking for.http://squarerut.com/Address 6000 South Congress Ave., Ste 106Austin, Texas 78745HoursDaily: 12pm-12am
